Muhammad preached the message of monotheism, emphasizing the oneness of God and calling people to worship Him alone, without associating any partners with Him. Muhammad faced numerous challenges and opposition during his prophetic mission, but he remained steadfast in his faith and dedication to Allah. He endured persecution, boycotts, and even attempts on his life, but he never wavered in his commitment to spreading the message of Islam.
His exemplary character and conduct won him the hearts of his followers, who came to love him deeply and affectionately referred to him as "Rasulullah" or "Messenger of Allah." His kindness, humility, and wisdom earned him the title of "Al-Amin," meaning "the trustworthy," even among those who did not embrace Islam.
Muhammad's Prophetic Legacy
Muhammad's prophetic mission lasted for 23 years, during which he successfully propagated the message of Islam and established a community of believers who embraced the faith. He received the Quran, the holy book of Islam, as a divine revelation, which serves as the primary source of guidance for Muslims to this day.
In addition to the Quran, Muhammad's teachings and actions, known as the Sunnah, are also considered a significant part of his prophetic legacy. The Sunnah includes his sayings, actions, and tacit approvals, which provide practical guidance on how to live a righteous and virtuous life according to Islamic principles.
