Species Origin: Prokaryote Bacteria first life form, appearing 2.5 billion years ago. Fossilized creature discovered in Canada, lived 542 million years ago, with a mouth and five eyes. The Silurian era saw creatures similar to millipedes on land, 420 million years ago. Paleozoic era, 542 million years ago, saw the spread of plants on land before animals. Important Points: Earth formed 4.54 billion years ago from a nebula. Earth initially hot, gradually cooling but remains warm inside. Life originated later, first in water, with tiny bacteria.
