முடிவெடுத்தல்
வரையறை: கிடைக்கக்கூடிய தகவல்களைப் பயன்படுத்தி பல்வேறு தெரிவுகளில் இருந்து மிகவும் பொருத்தமான தெரிவைத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கும் செயல்முறை.
உதாரணம்: Supermarket விற்பனைத் தரவைப் பகுப்பாய்வு செய்து, மழைக்காலத்திற்கு முன்பு அதிக குடைகளை வாங்கி சேமிக்க முடிவெடுத்தல்.

கொள்கை உருவாக்குதல்
வரையறை: தகவல்கள் மற்றும் ஆதாரங்களின் அடிப்படையில் விதிமுறைகள், திட்டங்கள் அல்லது வழிகாட்டுதல்களை உருவாக்குதல்.
உதாரணம்: பாடசாலை வருகைத் தரவைப் பகுப்பாய்வு செய்து, வருகையை அதிகரிக்க புதிய கொள்கையை உருவாக்குதல்.
எதிர்வுகூறல் / கணித்தல்
வரையறை: ஏற்கனவே கிடைத்த தரவு மற்றும் தகவல்களைப் பயன்படுத்தி எதிர்காலத்தில் நடைபெறக்கூடிய நிகழ்வுகளை கணித்தல்.
உதாரணம்: வெப்பநிலை, ஈரப்பதம், Satellite data ஆகியவற்றைப் பயன்படுத்தி வானிலையை கணித்தல்.

Inconsistency & Duplication
Data Inconsistency (முரண்பாடு): ஒரே தரவு வெவ்வேறு இடங்களில் வெவ்வேறு மதிப்புகளைக் கொண்டிருப்பது (எ.கா: "25 Main St." vs "25 Main Road").
Data Duplication (நகலாக்கம்): ஒரே தரவை தேவையில்லாமல் பல இடங்களில் (Admission, Library, Exam Registers) சேமிப்பது. இது Storage-ஐ வீணாக்கி, Update செய்வதைக் கடினமாக்கும்.
Human Errors & Delay
Human Errors: Typing, Calculation, Copying தவறுகள். கணினி இதைக் குறைக்கும், ஆனால் GIGO (Garbage In, Garbage Out) என்பதை நினைவில் கொள்க.
Delay: 5,000 மாணவர்களின் marks-ஐ கையால் கூட்டி, sort செய்து, rank செய்வது மிக அதிக நேரம் எடுக்கும்.

- Sharing: Paper-based info-ஐ விரைவாக பகிர்வது கடினம்.

Computer Network: Data மற்றும் Resources-ஐப் பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளக்கூடிய வகையில் ஒன்றுடன் ஒன்று இணைக்கப்பட்ட Computing Devices-ன் தொகுப்பு.
Internet: உலகம் முழுவதும் ஒன்றுடன் ஒன்று இணைக்கப்பட்ட Computer Networks-ன் உலகளாவிய வலையமைப்பு (Infrastructure).
WWW: Internet-ஐப் பயன்படுத்தி Web Pages மற்றும் Resources-ஐ அணுகுவதற்கான ஒரு சேவை (Service).
